After several non-working days due to New Year?s, the movie industry finally released the box office chart for the New Year?s weekend. Naturally there weren?t really any new box office openings, resulting in the top 10 from the previous Christmas weekend just getting shuffled a bit.
?Mission: Impossible ? Ghost Protocol? once again dominated the chart by a wide margin over second place, despite it already being in its third weekend at the Japanese box offices. Unfortunately, the specific numbers have yet to be announced for the New Year?s Day weekend.
The second place was left unchanged, with the Japanese Pearl Harbor war drama ?Rengou Kantai Shireichoukan Yamamoto Isoroku? still reaching out to both young and old.
One of the rare Japanese 3D CG anime, ?friends Mononoke Jima no Naki?, also finally made it into the top three thanks to quite a successful third weekend.
Since there aren?t any new entries nor any specific numbers yet, you should just scroll down and check out the rest of the top ten for yourself. No new movies also means there are no trailers in this week?s weekend box office report.
